QuizLift Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Merchant information

When a merchant installs or uses QuizLift, the app may process information necessary to operate the Shopify app, including:

• Shopify store domain
• Shopify app installation and authentication information
• Subscription or plan status
• Quiz configurations created by the merchant
• Quiz design settings
• Shopify product references selected for quiz results
• Usage and application activity required to operate the service

QuizLift currently requests only the Shopify permissions required for its functionality, including:

• Read access to Shopify products
• App proxy access for serving QuizLift functionality through the merchant's store

QuizLift does not request access to Shopify customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or order history as part of its current core functionality.

Shopper quiz information

When a shopper interacts with a quiz created using QuizLift, the app may process information such as:

• A randomly generated quiz session identifier
• Quiz started status
• Questions or quiz nodes viewed
• Answers selected
• Quiz completion
• Quiz result viewed
• Recommended products
• Product clicks
• Add-to-cart events associated with the quiz
• Timestamps and technical request information required to operate and secure the service

QuizLift does not require shoppers to provide their name, email address, phone number, or Shopify customer account information to use the standard quiz functionality.

2. How We Use Information

QuizLift uses collected information to:

• Provide and operate the QuizLift application
• Save and publish merchant-created quizzes
• Display product recommendations
• Process quiz routing and conditional logic
• Measure quiz starts, completions, results, and drop-off
• Provide analytics to merchants
• Enforce subscription and usage limits
• Process app subscription and usage billing through Shopify
• Maintain application security
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve the reliability and functionality of QuizLift

QuizLift does not sell personal information.

3. Shopify

QuizLift is a Shopify application and uses Shopify APIs and services to provide its functionality.

Merchant app subscription charges and applicable usage charges are processed through Shopify's billing system.

Information processed by Shopify is also subject to Shopify's own privacy policies and terms.

4. Quiz Sessions and Analytics

QuizLift uses anonymous or pseudonymous quiz session identifiers to measure quiz usage.

A quiz session is counted when a shopper starts or interacts with a quiz. Simply loading a page containing a QuizLift quiz does not by itself count as a quiz session.

Analytics may include quiz starts, completions, question or node progression, result views, product clicks, and similar quiz interaction events.

These analytics are provided to the merchant whose quiz the shopper interacted with.

5. Merchant Uploaded Content

Merchants may upload images or other supported assets for use in their quizzes.

Uploaded assets may be stored using third-party cloud storage infrastructure.

Merchants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights and permissions for content they upload to QuizLift.

6. Data Storage and Service Providers

QuizLift may use third-party infrastructure providers to operate the service, including services for:

• Application hosting
• Database hosting
• File and image storage
• Error monitoring or operational infrastructure

QuizLift currently uses infrastructure that may include:

• Render for application hosting
• PostgreSQL for application data
• Amazon Web Services S3 for uploaded assets

These providers process information only as necessary to provide infrastructure and related services.

7. Data Retention

QuizLift retains merchant and quiz information for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain legitimate business records.

When a merchant uninstalls QuizLift, information associated with the store may be deleted or anonymized in accordance with Shopify requirements and applicable law.

Some records may be retained where required for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, or accounting purposes.

8. Data Security

QuizLift uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Data Sharing

QuizLift does not sell merchant or shopper information.

Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary with:

• Infrastructure and hosting providers
• Shopify
• Service providers acting on behalf of QuizLift
• Legal or regulatory authorities where required by law
• Parties involved in protecting the security, rights, or integrity of QuizLift and its users

10. International Processing

QuizLift and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where the merchant or shopper is located.

Where required, reasonable safeguards are used for international data transfers.

11. Privacy Rights

Depending on location, individuals may have rights regarding their personal information, including rights to:

• Request access
• Request correction
• Request deletion
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a copy of applicable personal information

Because QuizLift generally processes shopper quiz activity on behalf of Shopify merchants, shoppers may first need to contact the relevant merchant regarding a privacy request.

QuizLift will cooperate with merchants and Shopify where required by applicable privacy law.

12. Shopify Privacy Requests

QuizLift supports Shopify's required privacy and data-protection processes, including applicable requests relating to:

• Customer data requests
• Customer data deletion
• Shop data deletion

13. Children's Privacy

QuizLift is intended for use by Shopify merchants and their online stores.

QuizLift does not knowingly collect personal information from children through its standard quiz functionality.

If information is believed to have been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, contact QuizLift so the matter can be reviewed.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to QuizLift, legal requirements, or business practices.
